Jacksonville, FL – June 2025

The National Catholic Burmese American Community (NCBAC) held its monthly meeting on Zoom on June 7, 2025 (Meeting no: 07/2025). Attendances who joined included members of the Executive Committee, the Kachin Catholic Community of Florida, the Myanmar Catholic Community of Jacksonville, and other community’s representatives.

The main goal of the meeting was to prepare for the upcoming 14th Annual NCBAC Conference, happening from August 29 to 31, 2025, at Deerwood Castle in Jacksonville, Florida (7601 Centurion Parkway).

The meeting began at 8:00 PM Eastern Time with a prayer led by Vice President Edward Gabriel. NCBAC Secretary Ko Eric Oo led the meeting and covered the planned topics.

Important items discussed included updates on inviting bishops and confirming their attendance. Fundraising efforts like selling raffle tickets and T-shirts were also reviewed to help cover event costs. The team is working on finishing the schedule to make sure the conference is meaningful and well-planned.

Updates were shared about music, performances, and how the event will be promoted. The liturgy team is organizing the religious services to be welcoming and respectful. Food and hospitality were also discussed to make sure all guests are taken care of.

The local host groups—the Kachin Catholic Community of Florida and the Myanmar Catholic Community of Jacksonville—shared their progress and support, which is helping bring everything together.

The meeting ended at 10:18 PM with a closing prayer by Fr. John Paul, the NCBAC Chairperson. With just a few weeks left, NCBAC’s President Maurice Lee thanked everyone for their hard work and encouraged people to attend the event.
